Survival in a Bag Hike
NEW! Begin your adventure at the edge of civilization before stepping into the unknown. Learn basic hiker safety and what 10 everyday items you should carry in your bag for basic survival. Hike into the forest of Rockwood Park learning how to read the landscape. You will learn how to leave markers for others to find and learn what to do if you find yourself lost. Finally, learn how to make a basic shelter and make your way back to civilization. Bring food, water, a light backpack, a trash bag, wear long pants and sturdy boots. This hike will be about 3-4 miles in length around various sites in Rockwood Park with light off-trail instruction. Minimum age is 8. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
