Come with us on a springtime adventure as we take a nature walk to find signs of spring. We will make a lovely spring craft, listen to fun springtime stories, and maybe sing a song or two! For ages 3-5 years and a parent or guardian.

02/11 Evergreens in Winter

Evergreens in Winter
What makes an evergreen tree different from other trees? What is a Conifer and what shape is it? Let’s explore these special trees! We will paint with pine needles, make Cheerio garlands, and learn “Big & Little” and “Prickly & Tickly” by playing a sorting game! Participants are welcome to bring sprigs of evergreens and pine cones brought from home for “Show-N- Tell”. For ages 3-5 years and a parent or guardian.

Summer Sprouts
Nurture your child’s fascination with the earth’s creatures. Summer Sprouts will spend the week discovering and learning about the animals that hop, swim, fly, and crawl through the fields and forests of Rockwood Park. Both sessions cover the same curriculum, so register for only one. For ages 4-5.

Bursting Buds!
How do you feel when you see flowers suddenly open up in spring? What colors do you notice in spring that you haven’t seen all winter? We will answer these and other questions as we explore the arrival of spring on the trails of Rockwood Park. We will paint with nature objects, discover what is inside a bud, and plant some seeds to take home! For ages 3-5 years and a parent or guardian.

Is your one-year-old a little nature explorer? If so, this series of classes is just for you! We will have songs, movement, stories and lots of outdoor fun! We ask that each child be one-year-old by the first class and that younger siblings not attend.
